Z-CERT has officially been designated as the Computer Security Incident Response Team for the healthcare sector. This gives the organisation a statutory role in supporting healthcare organisations with cyber threats and cyber attacks. According to the report, organisations covered by the Cybersecurity Act are entitled to this support.
Since 15 August, registration has been a statutory requirement for many healthcare organisations. So far, approximately 750 organisations have registered. That number is expected to continue to rise.
The formal designation followed the signing of the articles of association before a civil-law notary on Thursday 1 October. As a result, Z-CERT has officially become a legal entity with a statutory role.
